Book-A-Rung is an initiative designed to address the problem of poor reading comprehension and a lack of resources for those who are passionate about reading, particularly in underserved communities. The project will be implemented in the Volta Region with the aim of creating a sustainable community of young people whose skills in reading, writing, literature, communication, research, public speaking, logical reasoning, and critical thinking will be enhanced to promote quality, inclusive, and equitable education.
This transformative and disability-friendly program will provide opportunities for any registrant, including schools, communities, individuals, and students, to undergo a learning process at beginner, intermediate, advanced, and professional levels. Participants who successfully read the books and provide reviews will be rewarded with prizes, while competitions will be held among participants, with the emerging winner endorsed as the Ambassador of Book-A-Rung.
Certificates and souvenirs will be given to all members of the community, promoting an inclusive, quality, and equitable educational community. This initiative will not only enhance young people’s reading and writing skills but will also contribute to achieving SDG Goal 4 and the principle of leaving no one behind.
